Frank Withey New Jazz Trio Blackthorne Taverne, S. Easton, MA.

Here are the pages that will contain Frank’s gigs at the Blackthorne Taverne.

These extended from about 1997 to 2003.

Tony Vaughn or Jeff Jones played bass at the gigs.

Herb King and Chris Poudrier made appearances at the drum kit

until Steven Wright held the seat.

This was a great place for Frank to rehearse in front of a live audience although, many of

the patrons were more interested in “making the scene” and socializing than listening

to the band, a reason for the “crowd noise” on many of the recordings.

Frank’s musical ideas, directions and talent are made evident at each and every gig.

Here’s a tasty sample from an early Blackthorne gig with

Enrique Haneine on keyboards and Jeff Jones (?) on bass.

Another stellar recording.

Thanks Dave.
